Patient is a 70 year-old tourist presenting after slipping and down a 10 foot embankment while taking pictures. The patient denies loss of consciousness, chest pain, or abdominal pain; her primary complaint is left hip pain. She has no other external evidence of trauma. Her FAST and chest xray are negative and her left hip and pelvis radiographs are below:

Questions:

1) What is the injury identified on radiographs? 2) What are frequently associated injuries with this fracture pattern? 3) What is the appropriate emergency department management of this injury?
